Getting to Know Us - Conner, Store Clerk
Meet Conner, a fresh addition to the MMS team. In the short time he’s been with us, he has added a positive and calm attitude to the team. When you visit our store, you will be greeted with his warm smile and an infectious dose of enthusiasm. Conner loves to learn, is knowledgeable about our products, and is eager to assist customers.
How long have you been at MMS and what is your job here?
I’ve been here since September ‘22, so about six months now! I am a store clerk.
How did you find your job at MMS?
I dropped off my resume in July of ‘22. There were no open positions at that time, but in early September I got a call asking if I was still available and I was. I was listening to Kid A by Radiohead when I got the call; I give partial credit to that for getting me this job.
What is your favorite part about working at MMS?
Practically everything. I love that the products are natural, I love the people, and I love the culture that they’ve cultivated. It’s such a wonderful place. I can scarcely believe it’s real, and that I have a position within that.
What is your favorite color?
I’m not too particular with colors. Shades of blue and green, I’d say, like the ocean.
Sometimes ‘it’s the little things’ – what’s one little thing about MMS you love?
I love condensing products- it’s methodic and relaxing. Organizing is one of my favorite things.
What is your spirit animal and why?
I don’t really care for animals, but I have an unreachable fantasy of living at the bottom of the ocean, with fish and coral and silence. So perhaps a coral! A starfish, a sea cucumber, and an anemone. They’re quiet, they don’t have to process much- less me and more of what I wish I could have.
What is your favorite Artist or Band?
The National, by a long shot. All-time favorite, saw them in concert last year and the lead held my hand. A close second, though, is twenty-one pilots, they were very formative.
What skills do you feel you most often use at work?
I use organizational skills a lot- straightening products and making sure everything is in the right place. People skills big time, too. Less of a skill and more of an anxiety, but I’d say I’m excellent at making sure everything is locked when I close.
What is your superpower?
Cleaning? I don’t wield that one much, so I’m sure it counts. Helping people like me, I’m relatively good at that. Making character playlists, for sure. Great at that.
What is your favorite part of the workday?
I love opening, so probably the chill start of the day. Turning everything on, counting the register, and making sure everything is correct.
What are your hobbies?
If it's stereotypically pretentious, I probably do it- I hike with my mom, I read (mostly fanfiction), write (fanfiction…), I take a lot of photos (digital, polaroid, phone, film, sometimes- I procrastinate on developing it, though), I collect records. I really like making mixtapes. I do pottery on occasion. I listen to a lot of music and I hang with a select few people, including my mom. She’s great. I travel too! Love going to my grandma’s place in California.
